Clear Light - Clear Light
I've had this one sticking around a long while and just realized it never appeared here. Clear Light released this fairly solid slice of psych on Elektra in 1967 before the members splintered and all went onto fame in their own ways. Cliff DeYoung
became an actor appearing in Glory, Flight of the Navigator and The Craft. Bassist Doug Lubahn played on early Doors albums, Dallas Taylor would go on to drum for Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the others would go on to be successful in session work. The album has more than a few notes of The Doors and this could be largely due to their association with the band and coming up in the same scene. They had one hit (oddly not one of the strongest tracks from the album in my opinion) but that wouldn't prove enough to keep them in the public eye as a complete unit. Still, for psych collectors this is a great addition any day.
